Our Mission
KMI Music Studio provides one-on-one piano instruction with individually designed piano lessons that are carefully adopted to the student's own ability, strengths and weaknesses.

Since we provide individualized lessons, we welcome transfer students. There is no need to purchase a whole set of new materials, and students can pick up at where they left off.
Our Methods
A lot of teachers teach how to play the piano simply by imitation. Although imitation has its place in piano study, it is very limited in application. KMI music studio employes teaching methods which foster student’s ability to read and understand sheet music, to understand the beats in music, to analyze and understand the structure of the pieces, and to analyze and solve issues in practices.
Although in-person, studio lessons are recommended and more effective, KMI Music Studio offers on-line lessons. Please inquire regarding media requirements.

Group Classes
KMI Music Studio offers group pre piano classes for young children through San Diego Parks and Recreations. The group class has a set duration and teach students the fundamentals of music (such as how to read music, how to identify piano keys). For dates and registration, please visit sdreccnect.com.​​

Recitals
The studio hold at least two student recitals a year. In addition, various recital and competition opportunities are available through MTAC or other organizations. Students are encourage to participate in these opportunities. Students are also encouraged participate in CM (Certificate of Merit) grade tests through MTAC.
